Some of the country’s leading food bloggers learn more about ‘Put Pork On Your Fork’ at Jimmy’s Farm

As part of the day, Jimmy Doherty gave everybody a tour of his farm, the bloggers received a butchery demonstration from Jimmy and Joe Collier (an award-winning butcher from Berkhamsted) and finally, everyone had lunch in Jimmy’s on-site restaurant.

One of the bloggers to visit was Marie Rayner, who bogs at ‘The English Kitchen’, here’s what she thought of the day:

“We really had a wonderful time walking around in the sunshine, seeing where the animals live…learning all sorts of interesting facts and folklore about pigs… After our tour of the farm we were treated to a special Butchering class given by Joe Collier from the famous Berkhamsted butchers, Eastwoods. Joe took us through the butchering of a whole Coinstar online side of pork whilst Jimmy explained all the cuts and what we could do with them. I found it very informative and could not wait Western union point to get home and put some of it in Western union point to action! Especially interesting was all the information we were given regarding the “lesser” cut of pork, or cheaper bigthink.com cuts. I have always found that these are the tastiest bits!”
